Job Summary:
The Associate Compliance Service Specialist (ACSS) role is unique role that combines compliance functions in addition to servicing functions. This position supports the Compliance Service Specialist Team, and the Regulatory Filing team within the Compliance department to provide greater control and oversight into that function. This role allows for significant improvement in compliance targets and metrics. The role of ACSS is a hybrid role with a highly specialized skill set to bridge the gap between the Servicing Team and the Compliance Team. ACSS role is crucial to the overall success of the organization and will play a key role in supporting the Regulatory Filing team to ensure that compliance deadlines and requirements are met.
Essential Functions/ Primary Responsibilities:
- Prepare, send, and collect state specific diligent effort forms and additional state specific forms.
- Manage assigned accounts and handle all aspects of the post binding workflow.
- Maintaining post binding files and uploads into Centralis.
- Reviewing outstanding subjectivity requirements and coordinating collection of outstanding subjectivities.
- Establish and develop solid working relationships with external retail and carrier partners.
- Order policies from the carriers.
- Follow up on outstanding policies and endorsements.
- Setting and following up on suspenses for cross department tasks (i.e. for AAM, AE and AM’s)
- Review policies, binders and invoices for accuracy.
- Coordinate policy and binder corrections.
- After review, apply state required stamping language and deliver the policy to the retail partner.
- Completing any required carrier surplus lines forms.
- Willingness to be cross trained in all aspects of the department as assigned by the Director of Compliance.
- Other tasks and responsibilities as determined based on operational needs within the department.
Knowledge, Skills, and Ability:
- Must obtain a Property & Casualty License within 90 days of hire date.
- Basic knowledge of insurance markets, rating procedures, coverages, and industry operations to effectively manage, maintain, and service assigned client and prospect.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume position, deliver timely and accurate work products with a sense of urgency as required.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, high level of emotional intelligence, and exceptional communication skills.
- Goal and detail oriented: sense of urgency and ability to meet client and producer expectations through well executed time management skills.
- Ability to utilize computer and understand functionality. Consistently increasing knowledge of available technology and amending work patterns to maximize efficiency.

Job Summary:
The Account Manager works as an integral part of the Marketing Team to enhance client relationships and service while focusing on the clients’ daily needs. You will coordinate service, account renewal marketing, claims communications, administration and provide consultative guidance for your assigned accounts, as applicable with assistance from Synapse Producer and/or Reporting Manager. Individual needs to be able to communicate and interface with customers and internal brokerage team, follow directions, and provide critical thinking. Be able to manage multiple “projects” in various phases of process, from supporting new business opportunities to insurance policy binding. Understand and promote agency initiatives; to contribute to and enhance the agency’s reputation in all actions.
Essential Functions/ Primary Responsibilities:
- Always exhibit superior customer service traits: Accommodate client requests, facilitate servicing needs & exceed expectations across all brokering-related
- Communicate with carriers/underwriting/producers and brokers regarding renewals, audits, carrier recommendations, and quote negotiation on existing and new business
- Coordinate re-marketing of accounts: Gather and compile exposure information from the client &
- Responds to clients’ needs by producing appropriate paperwork within timeframes outlined in procedures.
- Help clients with making coverage changes in a timely fashion.
- Assist the accounting team in collecting premium and commissions from agents, as needed.
- Works independently recognizing and utilizing available resources and technology.
- Review policy, endorsement, or audit discrepancy forms, proactively order any necessary corrections from carrier and ensure documents are sent to client on a timely basis.
- Maintain the accuracy and integrity of both electronic and non-electronic data.
- Must adhere to pertinent laws, regulations, Synapse’s Compliance Policy and external compliance requirements.

Job Summary:
Synapse Partners, LLC (“Synapse”) is seeking a legal and/or insurance professional to join its in-house Legal Department in the role of Claims Advocate.
As part of Synapse’s Corporate Resource Group, the Synapse Legal Department provides operational support to our brokerage team through Broker Claims Advocacy, assisting our internal brokerage team, our retail agent partners and their insured clients to navigate complex claims and achieve favorable claims outcomes.

Key Responsibilities for the Claims Advocate Position:
The role of Claims Advocate is anticipated to include, but not be limited to, the following:
- Interact with Synapse’s internal producer team to identify the various ways Synapse provides support in claims situations and develop relationships with both Synapse’s internal production team and their retail agent and insured clients;
- Serve in a client-facing role in supporting retail agents and insured clients in claims situations, as well as communicating with insurance carriers and adjusters in support of insureds;
- Review and advise on coverage correspondence, insurance policy provisions and claims scenarios, including conducting caselaw research or other legal research to support policy interpretations;
- Identify coverage issues, policy provisions or emerging coverage trends that may warrant internal training, educational outreach or other marketing opportunities;
- Draft and compile notes, caselaw writeups, and/or correspondence to clients or insurance carriers in support of Synapse’s Broker Claims Advocacy services.
Educational/Experience Requirements:
Synapse is seeking experienced insurance professionals (included licensed attorneys) with between 3-10 years of experience within the insurance industry. Preferably, applicants will have experience with insurance claims work and particularly complex claims. A legal background is helpful but not required and will be evaluated in context with a candidate’s professional experience within the insurance industry.
Applicants must have strong writing and communication skills. The position requires the ability to work independently as well as collaborate with others.
Work Environment:
The position of Claims Advocate operates in a professional office-based environment. Synapse maintains office locations in several states, and proximity to a Synapse office may be evaluated in conjunction with a candidate’s other qualifications. The Claims Advocate position may require periodic travel to a Synapse office location, and ability to travel for client-related meetings as necessary. Any remote work arrangements are subject to Synapse’s review and approval.
