02/25/2014 On January 27, 2014, Dan Lufkin received the National Audubon Society's Award, the Audubon Medal, in recognition of outstanding achievement in the field of conservation and environmental protection. Dan was the first Commissioner of the Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection, which was the first Department of Environmental Protection in the United States.
