February 25, 2014 On January 27, 2014, Dan Lufkin received the National Audubon Society's Award, the Audubon Medal, in recognition of outstanding achievement in the field of conservation and environmental protection. Dan was the first Commissioner of the Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection, which was the first Department of Environmental Protection in the United States. Mr. Lufkin was also the founder of Earth Day, which was first celebrated on April 22, 1970. Read more »

, A Syracuse not-for-profit, EvPlug Site, will be rolling out 75 vehicle chargers around Onondaga County in the next year or so. Its car-sharing affiliate, Cuse Car, has two Toyota Prius plug-in hybrid electric vehicles in its fleet, and both Nissan and Chevrolet will introduce the first mass-market electric vehicles in 2011.
